The Hédi Bouchamaoui Foundation celebrates “Knowledge Day “2018

For the second consecutive year, the Foundation celebrated Knowledge Day by organizing a prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the governorate of Gabès, under the aegis of the Regional Commission for Education.
The ceremony, held at the Abou Loubaba high school in Gabès on Friday, July 27, recorded the presence of several regional personalities as well as representatives of the educational body of the region, the winners, and their relatives.

The Foundation, which took charge of the organization of this ceremony, also awarded prizes to the winners of basic education and secondary education from all high schools and colleges in the governorate of Gabès.

For his part, the General Coordinator of the Foundation, Mr. Ezzedine Ounis, highlighted the initiatives carried out by the Foundation in the region. “It has the fine mission of encouraging and developing in Gabès actions of general interest in education and culture", he explained.

A school year full of activities

The Hédi Bouchamaoui Foundation convinced that the education of children is a lever for real equality of opportunity, has already started a program to improve learning conditions for children in Gabès, thus aiming at the quality of the school environment ,and this is in total complementarity with the programs of the Ministry of Education.

The Foundation has also taken the initiative to create language clubs in a certain number of colleges where a pedagogy is adopted that favors modern teaching tools, with artistic and theatrical activities.

In collaboration with institutions of the University of Gabès and partners from civil society, the Foundation contributed to the organization of the “Pre-citizen Education Forum” on the theme: "The governance of education … here and now”, held on March 12, during which new approaches to the modernization of the education system were discussed. The Hédi Bouchamaoui Foundation also organized a competition on the theme of "Citizenship" on April 28, 2018, between the English clubs of four different colleges.

As part of the preparation of baccalaureate holders and young students for studies abroad, the Foundation organized two sessions: the first in collaboration with the Columbia Global Center in Tunis, to introduce young people to studying at the prestigious Columbia University; the second with a specialized office, whose objective is to present the best destinations for study abroad and how to prepare a good admission file. Still, in this same context, the Foundation will organize a major seminar in November 2018 on "the Professions of the Future" aimed at raising awareness among young people to think early about their futures and to know the new orientations of the labor market and the new specialties it requires.

In addition, the Foundation has maintained and taken charge of a certain number of schools and provided various school equipment, materials, and support for the activities and services provided by the educational institutions.
